PADMA AWARDS 2015 WINNERS.

PADMA AWARDS 2015 :
Padma Awards, one of the highest civilian Awards of the country, were announced on Sunday(29/03/2015). The awards are conferred in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.

The Awards are given in various disciplines/ fields of activities, viz art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc.

'Padma Vibhushan' is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service.

'Padma Bhushan' for distinguished service of high order &

'Padma Shri' for distinguished service in any field.

The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year. These awards are conferred by the President of India at ceremonial functions which are held at Rashtrapati Bhawan usually around March/ April every year.

This year the President of India has approved conferment of Padma Awards to 104 persons as per the list below.The list comprises of 9 Padma Vibhushan, 20 Padma Bhushan and 75 Padma Shri Awardees.17 of the awardees are women and the list also includes 17 persons from the category of foreigners, NRIs, PIOs and 4 Posthumous awardees.

*Bharatiya Jnanpeeth Award:
It is given by Bhartiya Jnanpeeth Trust for recognized literary contributions in (22) Indian languages. The award was implemented in the year 1964.

*Moorti Devi Award:
This award was instituted in the year 1984 by the Bhartiay Jnanpeeth& it is granted for representation of value of human life in different modem Indian languages and in English. A sum of Rs. 51,000 is also offered along with the award.

*Saraswati Samman: 
This award was implemented in the year 1991 by K.K. Birla Foundation. It is identified as the most esteemed literary honor in the country and provided for an spectacular literary work in any language involved in the eighth agenda of the Constitution of India in the past 10 years. A sum of Rs. 5.00 lakh is given as award money.

*Vachaspati Award: This award was instituted in the year 1992 by K.K. Birla Foundation. This award is granted to recognize distinguished and innovative writing in Sanskrit. Award money given is equal to Rs. 50,000.

*Bharat Bharti Award : 
This award was implemented by the Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan in the year 1986. It is being conferred to acknowledged the creative writing and continuing services to Hindi Literature.

*Krishi Pandit:
This award is granted every year by the Indian Council of to the farmers who help to make notable contribution to the cause of Indian Agriculture.

*Bhatnagar Award :
This award is given by 'The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research awards' every year. Five prizes of Rs. 20,000 each for important factor in any field of science. The Awards are given in memory of late Dr. Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar.

*Sahitya Academy Awards:
These awards are presented for outstanding books.

*Lalit Kala Academy and Sangeet Natak Academy awards  These are given to remarkable artists in various fields.

*Jawaharlal Nehru Award:
It is given for International Understanding.This award was implemented by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations of India in the year 1965. It is given to persons for outstanding! efforts to the campaign of international understanding! goodwill and friendship. A sum of Rs.15 lakhs is given as award 1 money.

*Indira Gandhi Award:
It is given for International Peace Disarmament and Development: This award was instituted in 1986 by Indira Gandhi Memorial Fund and is provided for superb contributions to disarmament and development.

*Ambedkar International Award: 
This award was Instituted by Government of India in 1993, this award is given to recognise exceptional contributions in the social and economic fields, especially for the upliftment of the downtrodden.

*Rajeev Gandhi Sadbhavana Award:
This award was Instituted by Rajeev Gandhi Memorial Fund. This is provided for outstanding contributions in endorsing peace and cordial relations.

*Mahatma Gandhi Peace Prize: 
This award was instituted by the Government of India in 1995 to mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It is regarded as being the greatest between all international awards India confers. It is to be conferred on an individual! who led important fictional and work to the cause.

*Dada Saheb Phalke Award: 
This award is considered as the greatest award in the field of cinema.This award was Implemented in 1969 by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (Government of India), it is given to a film personality for his/her excellent contribution to the progress and improvement of Indian Cinema.

*Kalidas Award: 
This award is conferred by the Government of Madhya Pradesh for excellence in four different art forms alternatively.

*Kalinga Award: 
It was Instituted by Kalinga Foundation Trust, Orissa in 1952.This award is conferred for popularisation of Science by UNESCO.
