WHY DO WE BLINK OUR EYES?

Hi frieds.Do you know the correct reason for why do we blink our eyes?

ANS:
We have noticed that our eyes blink rather regularly.Tear glands in the outside corners of our eyes are always making tears, and the blinking of our eyelids wipes them away. This keeps the front surfaces of our eyes moist and clean.

Blinking is controlled by a reflex, an automatic nerve action.Besides making our eyes blink regularly, the automatic control also works to close our eyelids when something is about to strike our face. So blinking is important in protecting our eyes.

If we decide not to blink and stop blinking, may be for ten seconds or so. But then the automatic control becomes too strong.

There is only one safe and effective way to stop blinking is
'closing our eyelids and go to sleep'.
